About the session

In this session, we heard from Mark Prest, Founder of Portraits of Recovery on ‘The Power of Visual Arts in Recovery’.

Mark explored how stigma shapes public narratives around addiction and recovery, and how art, storytelling and visibility can challenge stereotypes, restore dignity and create space for hope and connection. The session invites us to rethink how recovery is represented.
